INSPIRING CHANGE THROUGH ART

Founded by Lowell Milken in 2016, Lowell created ARTEFFECT to expand the Lowell Milken Center forUnsung Heroes' mission through the visual arts.  This new initiative evolved naturally from Lowell’s belief that celebrating Unsung Heroes and inspiring learning from these often-overlooked historical figures provides powerful opportunities for students and educators to learn critical lifelessons that empower them to lead with courage, empathy, and social responsibility. ARTEFFECT encourages students and educators to reflect on these values, consider how to apply them to themselves, and positively impact the world around them.

To Lowell, ARTEFFECT is more than a program—it's a transformative journey that shapes future leaders by having students express, through a visual work of art and written statement, the story of an individual who made a profound difference.
